Background

        The government promoted "District-based" elderly service approach in order to let the senior be familar with the living in their own district. Thus there are some senior who does not fulfill learn-term caring service or on the waiting list would occasionally have the caring necsssity. As our society does not have certain social supporting service, our centre set up the Elderly Programme since August 2002 to provide urgent weak senior supporting service. Our project is admired by the society since operation, in addition to the support of Kowloon City Baptist Church, we are being sponsored and able to provide more and more service with a view to caring their spiritual and mental needs in the love of Jesus Christ.

Purpose

• To provide urgent weak elderly supporting service in order to moderate changing and pressure on living.
• To improve living quality of the senior.
• To serve people under the love of Jesus Chirst.
• To let the senior experience the love and care of God through difference service and build up a trust relationship.

Source of funding

We are funded 450 thousand dollars by Kowloon City Baptist Church.

Target

Senior who is 60 or older.

Application

Feel free to contact our social workers. Fees can be taken into consideration for certain circumstances excluding regular fees if applicant has any fiancial difficulties.

Area of Service

Emergency escort:

There is staff who provide emergency esort for the senior, which charge 10 dollars for each hour. Transportation fees should be paid.

Hostage/Home visit:

There is solitcitude for senior who are just sent into hospital or senior folks' home. Suitable referral and supporting service are also provided.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simple household repairing:

We provide simple household repairing like installation of telephone and gate lubrication. 5 dollars will be charged for every repairing. The materials are excluded.

Home delivery of soup/meal:

We provide home delivery of soul or meal for senior in need. 5 dollars will be charged for each time of service.

Solicitude:

We console senior who are sick, emotionally perplexed or disturbed by phone or sympathy card.

Buying products on behalf of the senior:

We buy daily products on behalf of the senior. Social worker will deliver the products to their home according to different situations.

Travelling to service:

There is free transportation service on every Sunday 7:45am in Lok Fu and 7:30am in Lung Cheung for the senior to attend service in Kowloon City Baptist Church and return at 11:30am. Everyone is welcomed!
